Julie Therese Libriani, age 64 of Grand Rapids, was welcomed to heaven in the early morning hours of Thursday, May 25, 2023. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ron & Marcia Biermacher; brother Joseph; sister Emily; and sister, Amy Biermacher. Julie is survived by her children, Alex (Rachel) Libriani, Andy (Corrie Kassel) Libriani, Julia (Israel) Romo, John Libriani; grandchildren, Sophia Libriani, Frankie & Vincent Romo; brothers, Ron (Joan) Biermacher, Andy (Ellen) Biermacher; sisters, Liz (Brian) Heslip, Anne (Jack) Stegehuis, Molly (Scott) Denning; many loved nieces and nephews; and special friends, Maggie Semlow and Britt Schweizer. Julie was a 1977 graduate of Forest Hills Central High School, as well as Grand Rapids Junior College and Ferris State University where she earned her associates in nursing. Her career spanned 43 years at Blodgett Hospital caring and advocating for others. Julie enjoyed gardening in her free time, but mostly enjoyed spending time with her family. Julie’s favorite pastime was spent surrounded by her grandchildren in which she filled the hours with reading, traveling, and exploring together. She was the most kind, generous, and giving person. Julie was known for being the ultimate gift giver. She was fiercely independent and invested her heart in everything she did. Her loyalty and love will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Visitation will be held from 6-8pm Tuesday, May 30, 2023, at O’Brien-Eggebeen-Gerst Chapel, 3980 Cascade Rd. SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49546. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 9:30am Wednesday, May 31, 2023, at St. Paul the Apostle, 2750 Burton St SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49546 with visitation one-hour prior. Rev. Peter Damian presiding. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to John Libriani for future care.
