Dr. Katharine Elizabeth Larsen Bennett, age 49, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 28th, 2019 surrounded by her loving family. Katharine leaves behind her four children, Burke Jr., Robert, Madelyn, and Belle.  She is also survived by her mother, Pat Larsen; sisters Anne (Chris) and Mary (Tony); many nieces and nephews and her two cats, Lucky and Leo.  She is preceded in death by her younger sister, Elizabeth Larsen Russell and her father, Lawrence W Larsen. She was fondly known as “Kitty”.

Katharine was born on February 27th, 1970. She is a graduate of Immaculate Heart of Mary, Catholic Central, and Michigan State University, where she was a corresponding secretary of Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority. Katharine went on to obtain her Doctorate at the Adler School of Psychology in Chicago, Il, where she later taught. Of all her greatest accomplishments, was the birth of her quadruplet children, and in their words, “She was the best Mom ever”. A loyal friend to all whom she dearly loved. Kitty was brave and there wasn’t a challenge she couldn’t master. She selflessly counseled many patients in their personal struggles, and cared deeply for others. God bless Emmanuel Hospice for their tender care for Kitty and her family. Kitty’s personal wish is to do something kind for others.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, May 3 at 11a.m., Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 1935 Plymouth Ave SE, Grand Rapids, Rev. Scott Nolan and Rev. Patrick Grile, CSsR presiding.  Visitation one hour prior at the church.
