Leonard Jay Washburn, age 75 of Ada, passed away at home with his family at his side on Sunday, November 25, 2018.  He was preceded in death by his parents RC and Virginia Washburn; and brother, Raymond Washburn. He is survived by his devoted wife of 55 years, Jan; his children Jeff (Keri) Washburn, Bruce (Denise) Washburn, Dee (Mike) McKendrick; brothers Kenneth (Sally) Washburn, Wayne (Janice) Washburn; sisters Carol Kuiper, Kathy Holmes, Sherry DeVries; grandchildren Trevor Washburn, Shelby Washburn, Megan Eilar, Devin (Kyle) Schmidt, Sam Washburn, Caben (Kayleigh Heynen) McKendrick, Elena (Matt) McCaleb, Breana (Carl Mitchell) McKendrick; and great-grandson, Willet Schmidt. Leonard worked as a meat cutter for many years at Ada Beef and Valley Meat Co., and was a volunteer with the Ada Township Fire Department. He enjoyed playing fastpitch softball. He was an avid outdoorsman, and loved hunting and fishing. Visitation will be Tuesday, November 27, 2-4:00 p.m. and 6-8:00 p.m. at Roth-Gerst Chapel, 305 N. Hudson, Lowell. Funeral will be Wednesday, November 28, 1:00 p.m. at Roth-Gerst Chapel; with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Pastor Jon Bell officiating. Interment Ada Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Spectrum Health Hospice, 100 Michigan St. NE Grand Rapids, MI 49503.

  4. Jan.we didn’t know about lenny. We’re so sorry. We’re always gone so I never keep up on this. Guess I figure we all old people will live a long time yet. May the good lord be with you.
