Lorraine J. Sytsma (nee Penninga), age 82 of Cascade, went to be with her Lord suddenly on Saturday, May 2, 2015. She was preceded in death by her husband, John in 2009. She will be lovingly remembered by her three children, Sue (Ron) Streekstra, Steve, Dan; grandchildren, Keri (Marty) Huizinga, Kelly and Michele Streekstra; great grandson, William John Huizinga; brothers, Herm Penninga, Dave (Carol) Penninga; sister, Esther Land; in-laws, Ted (Arlene) Sytsma, Joann (Joe) Hinton; and many nieces and nephews. A life-long member of Ada Christian Reformed Church, Lorraine enjoyed serving others through cookie baking and volunteering. She was a very loving and caring mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and sister who enjoyed traveling. Memorial service will be held Wednesday 11:00 a.m. at Ada Christian Reformed Church, 7152 Bradfield S.E., Ada. Pastor Rick Kiekentveld officiating. Interment Cascade Cemetery. Visitation Tuesday 6-8:00 p.m. at O’Brien-Eggebeen-Gerst Chapel, 3980 Cascade Rd. S.E., Grand Rapids and one hour prior to the service at the church.
