M. Joyce (Kocher) Racette, age 79 years, took the final journey to her heavenly home on Thursday, August 8, 2013 to there remain in the eternal presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Preceding her in death were husbands Frank Kocher and George Racette, her daughter Karen Kocher, sister Norma Van Ess, and brothers George and Frank Forner. Surviving are her children Susan Kocher, Cristine (Brian) Heil, Cary (Susan Bartman) Kocher and Connie (Lee) Isler, and her five granddaughters Lisa, Lauren, Paige, Hailey and Ella . Her extended family includes Dirk and Kim Racette, Deb and Scott Willette, Diane and Bob Leatherman, and their six children. Joyce enjoyed a 25-year career as a successful real estate broker. In retirement, she loved volunteering in the Blodgett Guild, at God’s Kitchen, and at St. Robert Church. Her passions included creating a beautiful landscape garden around her home, enjoying jazz and the symphony, traveling and seeing the world through her childrens’ eyes. People were drawn to Joyce’s buoyant personality and she had innumerable friends and admirers. Whenever she walked into a room she looked around for the people she knew and if there were none, she would change that. A 10am visitation and 11am mass will be held Monday August 12 at St. Robert of Newminster Church, 6477 Ada Drive, Rev. Leonard Sudlik presiding. Luncheon to follow.
