GARDNER – Margaret L. Gardner age 85 of Lowell passed away at Laurels of Kent on September 17 2008. She was preceded in death by her husband Lynn Gardner in 1985. She is survived by her loving daughter Sharon (Robert) Vanderwal of Grandville; adoring grandchildren Deb Vanderwal and Doug (Pam) Vanderwal; step great-grandchildren Brett and Abbie Mulder. Margaret was a lifetime member and former Chaplin of the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW in Lowell. She was a very active member in the First United Methodist Church where she helped with Missions Ministry or wherever they needed her as she was more than willing and able to give of herself and they could always count on Margaret. She volunteered her time until her health started failing to Flat River Outreach Ministries Food Pantry where she felt the compassion in helping those in her community. Her greatest love was her grandchildren and especially watching them grow into adulthood. Margaret will be greatly missed by all who knew her and leaves behind her special friends Ella Thompson Verna Rogers and Helen McCall to cherish her memories. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. on September 20 2008 at the Roth-Gerst Funeral Home 305 N. Hudson St. with Rev. William Amundsen and Rev. Rick Blunt officiating. Interment Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Lowell.
