Margaret Lee Mangano, age 94 of Cascade, formerly of Grand Rapids and Belle Mead, NJ, peacefully passed away with family at her side Tuesday, May 2, 2023. She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Dominick. A much beloved and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother Margaret is survived by her children, Annalee (David) Myers, Carmen Charles (Patricia) Mangano; grandchildren, Evan Donald (Sara) Myers, and Jordan David Myers and nieces and their families. She was the eldest of seven children of Charles and Myra Gauss of Baltimore, MD and survived all of her siblings. Margaret met the love of her life, Dom, when he was stationed in MD with the Army. After his four years of service and then four years of university, they were married. Together their family resided in NJ, DE, WV, and SC. They were avid gardeners and enjoyed sharing the fruits of their labor especially their pasta sauce and wine. Margaret retired as a program officer from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. While raising her family, she was very active in her community serving as church organist and Girl Scout leader. In retirement, Margaret was dedicated to the historical society of St Joseph Church in East Millstone, NJ. She was a life-long bird enthusiast and enjoyed photography. She loved desserts and was well known for her cheesecake at church. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11am on Friday, May 12, 2023, at St. Robert of Newminster Parish, 6477 Ada, MI 49301.
