Marilyn Elaine Antas-Knooihuisen, passed away Tuesday, May 2, 2017. On January 1st of this year we celebrated her 90th birthday with friends and family. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert Wesley Knooihuisen, in 1970 and her second husband, Richard John Antas, in 2000, also preceding her was her son-in-law Paul Goodwin in 2014. She is survived by her children Barry Knooihuisen, Carol Goodwin, Sandy (Craig) Rich, Debbie (Howard Clocklin) Knooihuisen; seven grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren. In 1961 Marilyn and Robert moved to Lowell with their family of four. She continued to live there until November 2015. Marilyn was a bank teller with Old Kent Bank, now known as Fifth Third, for over 30 years. She loved to bowl and won many trophies. She was proud to be a 1939 Duncan YoYo Champion. The family would like to extend their deepest and strongest thank you to the staff at Green Acres in Lowell. The entire family cannot express how much we appreciated those of you who cared for Marilyn with compassion that was beyond anything we could have expected. You touched her with your hands and your hearts. We know you loved her and she definitely loved all of you. In her final days Marilyn and her family were also cared for by the wonderful staff at Grace Hospice, who walked side by side with us, assisting us in making the choices that would ultimately bring us to our final goodbyes. There will be no public memorial. A graveside service for family will be held at a later date. Please, no flowers but do consider a donation to Grace Hospice, 3355 Eagle Park Dr NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49525 or to another organization of your choice.
