Marjorie Alice (Freimund) Harding, age 84, passed away peacefully on October 14, 2020 with her family by her side. She was born in Cass County, MI on October 4, 1936 to Clinton and Alice (Collins) Freimund. On June 26, 1960 she married David Squires Harding in Cassopolis, MI. They were married 51 1/2 years before he passed away on August 26, 2011. Surviving is their son, Michael David Harding; daughter in law, Kimberly; and adored granddaughter, Jordan Kathryn; sister, Helen (Jack) Naleid; brother, Charles (Jean) Freimund; several nieces and nephews; and many wonderful friends who became like family. Marjorie loved the Lord, her family, and her friends, including her Cassopolis Class of 1954 classmates whom she had kept in close touch with over the years. She enjoyed china painting, camping with family and friends, volunteering in several churches, Lowell Area Historical Museum, Gerald Ford Museum, Lowell Elementary and Middle School libraries, Cub Scouts, Lowell Women’s Club, Lowell Friends of the Englehardt Library, Laurel’s of Kent – serving in many different positions including board member, offices and as just a worker. She loved being active and helping people. Marjorie retired from Huntington Bank in April 1999 after working there for 15 years and became good friends with many of her customers and co-workers. Services will be held at Roth-Gerst Funeral Home, 305 N. Hudson St, Lowell, MI at 1 PM on Monday, October 19, 2020 with Pastor Larry Settle, retired minister of Pleasant View Church of Christ, Cassopolis officiating and Jim Parrish. Visitation will be from 2 PM to 5 PM on Sunday, October 18, 2020.   1. I’m so sorry for your loss. Mike, your mom sounded like an angel sent from above to help make other people’s lives better. It seems she helped and touched many people. I know I appreciate her always being there for my MIL.

  6. I first met Marj when she came to my door as the “welcome wagon” lady after I moved to Lowell. I often saw her at the bank and could get my Entertainment book from her each year. When I retired, I joined Lowell Women’s Club and got to know Marj better through her presence and activity there. She will be missed by many! Your family is in my thoughts and prayers.

  11. I will always remember Marj as a very kind loving person. She was always bring people together. She would take time to spend with you or take you wherever you needed to go. We have fond memories of camping with David and Marj. They will always be missed.
