Mary (Warnes) Springer of Ada, MI, was welcomed into heaven on Saturday, August 29, 2015, following a 4 year battle with ovarian cancer. Missing her immensely are her husband of 48 years, Dr. James R. Springer, her daughter and son in law, Michele and Gene McQuaid of Rochester, MI, her son and daughter in law, Rob and Heather Springer of West Olive, MI, and the grandchildren, Kaitlin McQuaid and Colby Springer. Other family members who have loved Mary include her sister and brother-in-law, Sally and Bill Worcester of Kula, Maui, HI; her brother and his wife, Carl and Sarah Warnes of Muncie, IN, and her brother-in-law and his wife, Col. Robert C. and Debbie Springer of Rockledge, FL. Preceding Mary in death are her parents George and Treasa Warnes, and her sister, Christine Demsky. Mary was a person of great faith, spirit, and compassion. She received great personal rewards from her work as a psychologist and counselor and maintained her strength through her love and devotion to her family and her church. She was a lover of the outdoors—whether it be golf, long walks and talks with friends, flower gardening, or simply feeding and watching the flora and fauna of her homes in Michigan and South Carolina. Funeral services are planned for Thursday, September 3 at 1 pm at Madison Square Church, 1441 Madison SE, Grand Rapids. There will be a time of visitation from 6 to 8 pm on Wednesday, September 2 at O’Brien-Eggebeen-Gerst Chapel, 3980 Cascade Rd SE.
