MC KENNA Mary Frances McKenna, age 96 of Grand Rapids, died Friday, May 12, 2017. She was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Margaret McKenna; brother, Edward McKenna; sisters, Margaret Ann, Catherine, Helen, Jean and her twin sister, Alice. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Aileen McKenna; nieces, Mary and Maureen; nephews, James and Kevin. Mary was a teacher in Grand Rapids elementary schools for 30 years and had her Masters Degree in museum studies from the University of Michigan. She was an avid Notre Dame football fan as well as Charlie Rose, C-Span, and golf especially Arnold Palmer. Mary was an artist, carpenter and seamstress. She was a supporter of the Paulist Fathers and the Catholic Information Center as well as St. Thomas the Apostle Church which she had been a member of all her life. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, May 22 at 10:30 AM with visitation one hour preceding at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Rev. Phil Shangraw, presiding. Interment Woodlawn Cemetery.
