Mary Margaret Ohlman, age 83 of Grand Rapids, passed away Monday, February 22, 2016. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Faith Newhouse; brother, Thomas Dykema; sister, Grace Haynes; grandson, Andrew McKenney. She is survived by her husband, Vern; children, Mark (Betty) Newhouse, Dawn McKenney, Steven Newhouse, Aaron (Liz) Ohlman, Adam (Paula) Ohlman; brother Louis (Bev) Dykema; grandchildren, Matthew, Chad, Noah, Michael, Katie, Evan, Paige and Lauren; several great grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; also several nieces and nephews. Mary was a very proud and caring person of her family and the world around her. She learned at a young age to be very independent and appreciative of the life she forged for herself and of her life with her husband Vern. She was very hard working, committed and intuitive in order for her husband, her children and herself to be as successful as they could be. We will miss her very much and remember her always. Visitation will be Friday 4-7:00 p.m. at O’Brien-Eggebeen-Gerst Chapel, 3980 Cascade Rd. S.E., Grand Rapids. Funeral service Saturday 11:00 a.m. at O’Brien-Eggebeen-Gerst Chapel, Melody Johnson, Porters Hills Chaplain officiating.
