Mary Patricia (Maher) Heffron of Grand Rapids, known to her family and friends as Pat, age 78, passed away peacefully at home on November 4, 2020 after bravely battling a long illness. She was born on March 17, 1942 (St. Patrick’s Day) in Dayton, Kentucky to Raymond Maher and Margaret (Plummer) Maher. Pat met Joseph Terry Heffron while they both attended the University of Cincinnati and they married on November 22, 1962. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and will be looking down from heaven on her first great-grandchild who is due on November 30, 2020. Pat loved spending time with family and friends, reading, and learning about her Irish heritage. She also enjoyed traveling – having the opportunity to visit Ireland and experience multiple cruises were highlights. Pat also enjoyed fine food and wine – and an occasional bourbon or single malt scotch. More recently she found comfort watching love stories with Terry on the Hallmark Channel. Her Family… Pat will be greatly missed by her husband, Terry; her children, Tim (Jill) Heffron, Lori (Jeff) Ring, Ellen (Mike) Hidalgo, Mike (Amy) Heffron; grandchildren, Elizabeth, Nicholas, Kaleigh, Daniel, Lucas, Alexander, Hannah, and Nathan. She is preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Margaret Maher; and sisters, Margaret Wilson and Susan Rabe. Her Farewell… A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in Pat’s honor on Tuesday, November 10, 2020 at St. Robert of Newminster Catholic Church, 6477 Ada Dr. SE, Ada, MI, 49301 at 11:00 AM. Rev. Leonard Sudlik, presiding. Close friends and family may visit from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Arrangements in care of O’Brien-Eggebeen-Gerst Funeral Home, 3980 Cascade Road SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49546. COVID requirements apply relative to wearing masks, social distancing, and adhering to state mandated limitations on the size of gatherings. 1. Terry and family:

We just learned about Pat’s passing. We have many good memories as past neighbors on Capitan. May she now Rest In Peace in the hands of God.
