Matthew D. Malarney (Matt and Maggie) January 20, 1932 – Saturday, October 11, 2014. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Elsie Malarney of Birmingham, MI; his wife, Marguerite (2012); sons, Kevin (2009), and Shawn (2012). He is survived by his grandchildren, Kiernan Matthew Malarney and Caitlin Rose Malarney. Matt lived his first 20 years in Birmingham, MI. He graduated in 1955 from Western Michigan University and lived until 1960 in Kalamazoo. He married “Maggie” Lynch in 1960 and they moved to East Grand Rapids. He was an Eagle Scout, Veteran of the Michigan National Guard and the U.S. Army. Retired in 1990 after 32 years with A.C. Delco, a division of General Motors, Matt and Maggie lived as “snow birds” in East GR, MI and Clearwater, FL until her death. As a lifelong practicing Catholic, Matt will be honored with his wishes, through a private Mass of Christian Burial.
