MUNGER Maureen Marie Munger age 91 of Grand Rapids passed away January 4 2012. She was preceded in death by her sister Eloise Hackett; and brothers Lou S. Munger and John C. Munger. She is survived by her nieces and nephews Jeanne Kaercher Margaret Hackett Karen Connor Lauren Munger Heidi Gustasson Shawn Munger Tamara Ammon Jill Bewell Kim Smith Jim Munger; sister-in-law Bonnie Munger; and 13 great nieces and nephews. Maureen was a proud graduate of the University of Michigan and member of Chi Omega Sorority. Devoted to her career in dental hygiene of which 26 years were spent at Grand Rapids Community College Maureen was responsible for initiating the Dental Assistant Program in 1964 and the Dental Hygiene Program in 1971 both still in existence. The Dental Laboratory she created was operational from 1976 until the early 80s. She was a recipient of the West Michigan District Dental Society Steel Water Award in 2008. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation for the wonderful care given to Maureen by Hospice of Michigan. Following Maureens wishes there will be no services.
