Norman Elroy Gehl, age 78 of Grand Rapids, passed away Friday, February 05, 2016. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Erin. He is survived by his wife of 56 years Ruth Ann; son, Eric (Marcia); grandchildren, Ana Gehl, Cameron Peckham; and good buddy Duncan his dog. Norman was a high school all-state athlete in football, wrestling and track and went on to play football for Michigan State University. He enjoyed his time spent on Big Platte Lake with family and friends. Funeral Service will be Tuesday 11:00 a.m. at Cascade Christian Church, 2829 Thornapple River Dr SE, Grand Rapids. Pastor Jill Forton officiating. Visitation Monday 2-4:00 p.m. and 6-8:00 p.m. at O’Brien-Eggebeen-Gerst Chapel, 3980 Cascade Rd. SE, Grand Rapids.
