Patricia Slump Koning “Oma”, of Grand Rapids, went to be with her Lord on Monday, August 21, 2017 at the age of 100. She was born in the Netherlands on August 19, 1917. Patricia was preceded in death by her husband, Peter, of 60 years. She is survived by daughter, Pam (Gordon) Love; grandchildren, Brad (Lisa) Quist, Amanda (Tim) Brent-Quist, Bryan (Molly) Anderson; great-grandsons, Andy and John Quist, and Cashen Anderson; sisters-in-law Manny A. (Janny N. Bossman) Koning, Rika Slump; brother-in-law Klaas P. Koning; also many nieces and nephews. Patricia was a member of Neland Avenue Christian Reformed Church for 65 years. She was a woman of strong Christian faith, a school teacher, and a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her gentle spirit and strength have always served as a guiding light for her family, and she will be deeply missed by all. Funeral service will be Wednesday 11:00 a.m. at O’Brien-Eggebeen-Gerst Chapel, 3980 Cascade Rd. S.E., Grand Rapids. Pastor Jill Forton officiating. Interment Woodlawn Cemetery. The family will meet with friends and relatives one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Grand Rapids Christian School Association.
