RUMISEK – Paul Rumisek age 91 a resident of Maple Creek Lodge passed away on November 20 2008. Mr. Rumisek was born in Javornik Czechoslovakia January 13 1917 to Paul and Eva Rumisek. Mr. Rumisek came to the United States at the age of 13 with his mother and sister Eva (Rumisek) Johannes. From 1940-1945 Mr. Rumisek was a tool and die maker for McMillan & Pettibone in Chicago IL. In 1940 he married Anna Knopf and moved to Ionia MI and in 1952 they moved to Grand Rapids. Mr. Rumisek was in the furniture and upholstery business for many years with Robinson Furniture Company Schoonbeck Furniture Company and retired from Klingman’s Furniture Company. Mr. Rumisek also did custom furniture and upholstery for private clients. He is survived by his wife of 68 years Anna Rumisek; a son Paul Gerald (Dena) Rumisek of Kentwood and a daughter Vallery (Rumisek) (Jim) Imbault of Boston; three grandchildren Michelle (Imbault) Morrissey of Milwaukee WI; Allan Imbault of Boston MA; and Lauryn Rumisek of Kentwood; and numerous nephews and nieces residing in both Michigan and Florida. A memorial service will be held on November 25th at 1:00 p.m. at the Chapel at Maple Creek Terraces 2000 32nd Street S.E., Grand Rapids MI Pastor Rebecca Ebb-Streese officiating. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial donations be sent to the Alzheimer’s Association 2944 Fuller Ave. N.E., Ste. 101 Grand Rapids MI 49505 or The Lodge at Maple Creek Lutheran Social Services of Michigan 2000 32nd St. S.E., Grand Rapids MI 49508-1592.
