Retired MSGT Richard ‘Dick’ D. Evans, age 83 of Lowell, passed away unexpectedly Monday, December 1, 2014, one day short of his 83rd birthday. He was preceded in death by his son, David Evans. He is survived by his wife, Pamela; children Richard (Dana) Evans, Steven (Tanya) Evans, Lawrence (Bonnie) Evans; mother-in-law Lois Luxford; 7 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Dick loved the outdoors, camping and gardening. He also loved dogs, of which, he rescued and owned many. A funeral service will be held Saturday at 11:30 a.m. at Roth-Gerst Chapel, 305 N. Hudson, Lowell. Pastor Brad Brillhart of the Lowell First United Methodist Church officiating. Interment Fort Custer National Cemetery. Visitation one hour prior to the service. Military Graveside Services will be held Monday at 11:30 a.m. at Fort Custer National Cemetery, 15501 Dickman Road, Augusta, MI 49012.
