QUINN -Robert G. Quinn Jr., age 77 died at Raybrook Nursing Center on January 16 2008 following a long journey with Alzheimer’s disease. He was born June 21 1930 in Grand Rapids MI to the late Robert and Albertine Quinn. He attended St. James grade school graduated from Catholic Central High School Grand Rapids Junior College and the University of Michigan. He received a law degree from the University of Michigan Law School. He served three years of active duty as an Intelligence Specialist in the U.S. Navy based at the Pentagon and served in the U.S. Naval Reserve for over 20 years retiring in 1990. He served as Assistant and U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Michigan during the 1960s. He was a member of the Grand Rapids State of Michigan and Federal Bar Associations and was admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of the United States. For many years he was an active member of St. Vincent de Paul Society and Meals on Wheels. He spent the last years of his career in private law practice. He is survived by his wife of 53 years Janyce; his son Shawn (Gail); and his daughters Eileen (Gary Freeman) and Martha (Thomas Morren); his grandchildren Kristin and Ryan Quinn Erin and Kyle Freeman and Kailey Alison and Tara Morren. He also leaves three brothers Patrick (Rita) Quinn Thomas (Gerry) Quinn and Michael (Rose) Quinn; three sisters Kathleen Quinn Maureen Slade (Charlie Bryant) and Noreen (Paul) Napierela; sister-in-law Mary Anne (Jon) Hill; and many nieces nephews cousins and special friends. The family would like to extend their warm thanks to the caring staff at Raybrook Manor. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the O’Brien-Eggebeen-Gerst Chapel 3980 Cascade Rd., SE. Vigil Service 8:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at St. Paul the Apostle Church 2750 Burton SE Rev. R. Louis Stasker presiding. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. Memorial contributions to God’s Kitchen 303 S. Division Ave., Grand Rapids MI 49503 and/or Faith Hospice of Holland Home 2100 Raybrook SE Grand Rapids MI 49546 would be appreciated.
