Robert James Rittenger, age 85 of Lowell, passed away Saturday January 11, 2014, surrounded by his loving family. Bob was preceded in death by his wife Thelma Rittenger in 1985 and his son, Steven Rittenger. He is survived by his wife, Sharon (Pedley) Rittenger and his children Paul and (Jennifer) Rittenger, Diane (Paul) Papranec, Denise Rittenger, Donna (John) Browne, Denise (Chris) DeLong. Bob was blessed with 16 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Bob was born and raised on the family farm in Alto, Michigan and lived in Lowell, Michigan his entire life. He was a proud tool and die maker for General Motors for 41.4 years. He loved the outdoors, travel and his family. Visitation will Monday 6-8 PM at the Roth-Gerst Chapel, 305 N. Hudson, Lowell and an hour prior to the service at the church. Funeral services will be Tuesday 1:00 p.m. at First United Methodist Church of Lowell, 621 E. Main St. Interment Oakwood Cemetery.
