Robert Maxwell McIntyre, age 72 of Cascade, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, August 30, 2013 after a courageous battle with cancer. Born May 12, 1941 in St. Joseph, MI, he was the son of Maxwell and Treva (Garrett) McIntyre whom preceded him in death, also preceding his death was his brother James McIntyre. Bob will be deeply missed by his wife of 51 years, Patricia; son, Timothy (Sara) McIntyre of Troutdale, OR; daughters, Karen (Matt) Figurski of Flat Rock, MI, Kristen (Josh) Chatman of Grand Rapids, MI; grandchildren, Max and Ben Chatman, Kaden McIntyre, Lila Figurski, and another expected grandchild; brothers-in-law, Michael (Peg) Bartnick, Gregory (Claudine) Bartnick, Philip Bartnick; also several nieces and nephews. Bob’s family, especially his grandchildren, were his life’s love. He worked for 35 years as a Manufacturing Engineer at Steelcase. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday 11:00 a.m. at St. Robert of Newminster Church, 6477 Ada Drive, Ada, Rev. Leonard Sudlik officiating. Interment Cascade Cemetery. Visitation Wednesday 2-4:00 p.m. and 6-8:00 p.m., also one hour prior to service at the church, with a 6:00 p.m. vigil service at O’Brien-Eggebeen-Gerst Chapel, 3980 Cascade Road, Grand Rapids, MI.
