Ronald E. Petersen, age 76 of Grand Rapids, went to be with his Lord, Tuesday, April 13, 2021.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Maurice and Betty Petersen and parents-in-law, William and Helen Jamieson.  He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Cindy; children, Amy (Joseph) Coretti, Eric (Kim Hoskins) Petersen, Aaron (Kathy) Petersen, Julie (Steve) Johnson, Heidi Breimayer; grandchildren, Joe, Casey (Chelsea), Jake, Maeve Coretti, Tyler, Morgan, Charlie, Mason Petersen, Maura (Kyle) Velthouse, Martin, Shannon, Aidan, Mary Ellen, Stephen, John, Susan Petersen, Amanda Breimayer, Mariah and Michael Johnson; great-grandchildren, Avery Stearns, Charlotte Coretti and Hudson Velthouse; brothers, Jack Petersen and Mike (Amy) Petersen; sister, Jane (Owen) Moore; many nieces and nephews.  Ron was a graduate of Belding High School and Michigan State University. He served in the Navy during the Vietnam War.  Ron was plant manager of the Belding Tool and Machine Company.  He enjoyed reading, golfing and fishing.  The family would like to thank the staff of Butterworth 6th floor station, Dr. Morgan, Dr. Egan and the staff of Lemmen-Holton for their kind and compassionate care of Ron and our family.  Visitation will be Sunday, April 18 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at the O’Brien-Eggebeen-Gerst Funeral Home, 3980 Cascade Rd., SE and Monday, April 19 from 10:00 – 11:00 AM at church. Funeral services will be Monday, April l19 at 11:00 AM at Immanuel Reformed Church, 1300 E. Beltline SE, Grand Rapids, Deacon Aaron Petersen and Senior Pastor Brian Smilde, officiating.  The service will be livestreamed at immanuelreformedchurch.org.  Masks and social distancing will be required at both places.  Interment Rest Haven Memory Gardens, Belding, Michigan.  Memorial contributions may be made to Spectrum Health Hospice and Palliative Care, 750 Fuller Ave. NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49503, Lemmen-Holton Cancer Pavilion, 145 Michigan St. NE, Grand Rapids, MI  49503 and Immanuel Reformed Church, 1300 E.   4. GOD BLESS you my dear cousin. Wish I could have seen you before you passed away, but didn’t know where you lived. My heart is broken for your family and wish them love. May God be with you all at this sad time. We lost a great person. Love you all.

    I loved Ron very much. I will miss him. I know he will leave a large hole in many people’s lives and hearts.

  7. I am so sorry for the families loss. I have so many wonderful memories of Ron throughout my whole life. He always knew how to make you feel cared for. I will miss him.
