PETERSON – Sharon Rae (Webb) (Howell) Peterson age 65 of West Olive died December 15 2007 after a valiant struggle against uterine and ovarian cancer. She was preceded in death by her mother Kathryn Webb. She is survived by her husband Gordon; her children Melissa (Rick) Kennedy of Albuquerque NM Tim (Ann) Howell of Phoenix AZ and Jeff (Genevieve) Howell of Seattle WA.; stepsons Tad and Phil Peterson of Grand Rapids; grandchildren Ben and Robbie Howell and GinaKennedy; father R. Robert Webb of Urbana IL; brothers Michael (Barbara) Webb of Bellingham WA and Roger (Susanne) Webb of Austin TX; and former husband Fred Howell of East Grand Rapids.Sharon was a home economics graduate of the University of Illinois studied computer science at Aquinas College and obtained an M. A. in Education from Calvin College. Very active in home and family life Sharon was an East Grand Rapids PTA member for many years. She was employed at Insight Marketing and the Terryberry Company. In 1990 she returned to teaching and developed the special education department at Plymouth Christian School from which she retired earlier this year. Burial was in Port Sheldon Township Cemetery on December 17. Her memorial service will be held December 28 at at OBrien- Eggebeen-Gerst Chapel at 3980 Cascade Road SE Grand Rapids MI with Dr. Peter Tjapkes officiating.
