Shirley Ann Chauvin, age 69 of Ada, passed away peacefully Wednesday, February 1, 2017. She was preceded in death by her husband Marvin R. Chauvin. She is survived by her children Dr. James (Maryam) Trout, Thomas (Susanne) Trout, Michelle (Mark) Petz, Lynn (Larry Stuewe) Chauvin, Jim (Gail) Chauvin, Lisa (Tim) Cotter, Bob (Roslyn) Chauvin; parents Frederick and BettyJo Nemeth; brothers Dr. Robert (Terri) Nemeth, David (Nanci Done) Nemeth; grandchildren, Sofia, Betty Jo, Ethan, Shamus, Oscar, Dawn (Adam) Haase, Josh McLenithan, Ezra Chauvin, Jack Chauvin, Emma and Sara Cotter, Aidan Petz; great grandchildren Jonathon, Addison. Shirley studied at Louisiana State Univ., Northern Illinois Univ. and Aquinas College. She was a world renowned artisan in needlepoint and petit point, stitching many works of fine tapestry over the years. Her creativity extended into knitting, crocheting, endowing friends and family treasured works of art. Funeral service will be held Sunday 2:00 p.m. at O’Brien-Eggebeen-Gerst Chapel, 3980 Cascade Rd. S.E., Grand Rapids. Rev. Cheryl Lamport, officiating. The family will meet with friends and relatives one hour prior to the service at the funeral home chapel.
