KLOOSTERMAN Shirley May (Pollock) Kloosterman age 75 of Lowell known affectionately as Grandma Cake by her grandchildren passed away on December 19 2010. Shirley was born in Belding Michigan on June 5 1935. She was preceded in death by her husband Berwyn in 1993; brother Gordon Pollock; sister Alana Frost. She is survived by her long-time friend and companion Joe Laveque; and dearest friend Barb Grim; children Gail Kloosterman Lois Kloosterman Carl (Stacy) Kloosterman Mark (Heather) Kloosterman Jill (Todd) Bruinekool; five grandchildren Kolby Luke Nick Sara and Kambry; sister Joanne (Aldon) Durham; brothers Ray (Lynne) Pollock Greg (Donna) Gunderson; brother-in-law Vic Frost; sister-in-laws Josie Pollock Reathel (Austin) Waldron Kathryn Wingeier. Shirley was best known for her easy laughter good sense of humor feisty attitude and for being an excellent mother and grandmother. Everyone was welcome in her home and no one was a stranger for long. Shirley enjoyed her grandchildren above all an occasional game of golf in her younger years the Detroit Lions and spending time with family. Funeral service will be held at Roth-Gerst Chapel 305 N. Hudson Lowell. Rev. Eugene Okoli of St. Mary Catholic Church officiating. Interment South Boston Cemetery.Visitations will be at 2-4:00 and 6-8:00 PM at Roth Gerst Chapel.
