VOR BROKER – Stuart James Vor Broker age 86 of Grand Rapids passed away April 4 2008. He is survived by his devoted wife of 66 years Jean (Maniscalco); his sons Robert (Sue) Vor Broker of Traverse City Bruce Vor Broker of Grand Rapids; daughters Barb (Tom) Chandler of Chicago Patty (Tom) Sprich of Grand Rapids; ten grandchildren including Cynthia and Kurt Vor Broker Brad and Kotoe Laackman Jen and John Haagenson Ali and Brian Heerdt Boyd and Joan Vor Broker Sarah Chandler Claire and Bryan Sprich; two great-grandchildren Katie and Bobby Haagenson. Stuart was preceded in death by his daughter Bonnie Laackman of Grand Rapids; his parents Frank and Helen Vor Broker and his brother Alvin all of Chicago IL. Stuart had two passions in his life his wife Jean and his five children all of whom treasured both his unyielding love and guidance throughout each of their lives. Stuart was employed for twenty seven years and retired as President of Applied Arts Corporation in 1987. The family would like to express their gratitude to the Staff at Porter Hills East including Dr. Harris and Jane Kotarski. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to The Alzheimer’s Association.
