RONDA, SUE “SUZIE” (MINNEMA) age 63, of Ada, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. Sue was the oldest of five children born to Harold and Barb Minnema. She was born on September 11, 1953 in Edinburgh, Indiana. Sue graduated from Christian High in Grand Rapids and went on to complete her Bachelor’s Degree at Grand Valley State University and eventually earned her Master’s Degree in Education from Calvin College. She met her husband, John in her elementary years and they were married on May 15, 1974. Sue was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to so many. For over 20 years she shined brightly as a preschool teacher at the Cascade Christian Nursery School and touched the lives of so many families. She had a true gift of patience and teaching. Beyond her love for teaching, she loved to spend time with family. Sue was never without a project or craft for her precious grandkids. One of her favorite pastimes in the summer was camping with family and friends. One of her favorite things in life was to have her entire family over for holiday get togethers – seeing all of them together brought her such joy. Sue was preceded in death by her father, Harold and her Great Aunt “Ginny” and parents-in-law, Arthur and Janet Ronda. She will be greatly missed by her husband, John; her mother, Barb Minnema; her children, Nicole, AJ (Betsy), and Alicia; her grandchildren, Ezzy, Mason and Addison. She will also be missed by her siblings, Karen Kolman, Kathy (Dale) Kwekel, Bob (Anne) Minnema, Julie Minnema; brothers and sisters-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 26 at 11:30 AM at the O’Brien-Eggebeen-Gerst Chapel, 3980 Cascade Rd. SE, Rev. Brian Bosscher, officiating. Visitation Thursday, May 25 from 5-8 PM and Friday from 10:30 to 11:30 AM. Interment Findlay Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Faith Hospice at Trillium Woods, 8214 Pfeiffer Farms Dr. SW, Byron Center, MI 49315. We love you to the moon and back Suzie Q.
