Susan Bennett (02/28/1955) passed away on June 26, 2021. Sue was a caring, loving, and fun person who enjoyed laughing and spending time with her daughters and friends. She was raised and lived her entire life in the Grand Rapids area and enjoyed taking vacations to the beaches of Lake Michigan in the summer. She began her career in nursing after high school but eventually married and dedicated her time to her three daughters. She was a strong role model to her children, showing and teaching them how to be independent and resilient. As they aged, she made sure to take regular trips to visit them in Colorado. When not spending time with her daughters and friends, Sue loved reading and watching classic movies. She was a committed mother to her cat, Helen, and a very devoted daughter and sister. Sue was preceded in death by her mother and father (Emmy Lou and Robert C. Sterling), sister (Mary Potter), brother (Thomas Sterling), and brother-in-law (Tom Deverman). She is survived by her siblings, Nancy (Rick) Schalk, Robert A. Sterling, Barbara Deverman, JoAnn Lipscomb, and Martha (Robert) Ray, and she leaves behind her three daughters who she deeply loved and cared for, Mackenzie (Aaron) Shenk, Brittney Bennett, and Drew Bennett. Her daughters will greatly miss her hugs, caring personality, support, and wisdom, and her friends will miss her honesty, style, welcoming nature, and contagious laugh and smile.
