ZOELLNER – Thomas C. Zoellner aged 82 of Grand Rapids passed away peacefully at home with his family on July 29 2008. He was preceded in death by his parents Tony and Marguerite Zoellner; sisters Mary Wells and Ruthann Liesveld. He is survived by his wife Dorothy (Zeilbeck); children Susan (Michael) Jandernoa Ann Zoellner Mary (William) Morrissey Tony (Sheila) Zoellner Ellen Carpenter Amy (Fred) Lake Beth (Jeff) Liszewski; grandchildren Carl (Kelly), Rob and Steve Jandernoa Colleen Amy and Will Morrissey Kristin and Kevin Zoellner Alex and Peter Carpenter Tom Sam and Caroline Lake Jack Megan and Erin Liszewski; great-grandsons Tommy and Keith Jandernoa; brothers and sisters-in-law; many nieces and nephews; dear friend Fr. Donald J. Joyce O.M.I. Tom lived his entire life in Grand Rapids. He grew up on Madison Avenue attending St. Francix Xavier elementary school and graduated from Catholic Central High School. He also attended Aquinas College and graduated in 1950 where he made many life-long friends. Aquinas was also the place he met his college sweetheart Dorothy and they were happily married for 58 years. He followed in his father’s footsteps as the Secretary/Treasurer of the John K. Burch Company where he contributed to their success for 43 years. In 1970 he was elected president of National Association of Credit Management of Grand Rapids his father was president in 1934. He was a long time member of the Lions Club of Grand Rapids a founding member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish serving many volunteer roles and long term member of YMCA spending many hours running around the track during lunch hours. He was elected to the Catholic Central Hall of Fame. Tom lived his life to the fullest with much joy and laughter. He was a devoted husband father and brother. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church Plymouth & Burton S.E., Rev. Troy Nevins presiding. Interment Woodlawn Cemetery. Rosary will be recited 7:00 p.m.. Visitation 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the O’Brien-Eggebeen-Gerst Chapel 3980 Cascade Rd. S.E. and one hour prior to the Mass at church. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Immaculate Heart of Mary Killgoar Foundation – Zoellner Family scholarship (1935 Plymouth Ave. S.E., 49506) or Aquinas College.
