Vance M. Dimmick Jr., age 76, passed away peacefully at home November 20, 2014 following a courageous battle with cancer. Surviving are his wife Ann Prothero Dimmick; son Timothy (Jacqui) Dimmick, Heather, and Eric; daughter Betsy (Jason) Tart, Nicholas, Corey, and Cody; daughter Jennifer (Jason) Elsenbroek, Joshua, and Jesse; daughter Christy (Christopher) Price, Marcus, Trey, Nadeya, and Cade; brother David (Betty) Dimmick; sister Susan (Dennis) Harrison; sister in law Jane (Jerry) Sinkel; 4 nephews, 4 nieces, and their families.

Vance dedicated his life as a pastor in the United Methodist Church (UMC). Hopewell UMC and Otterbein UMC in Kenton, OH; St. Paul’s UMC in Hagerstown, MD; Fairmont UMC and St. Paul’s UMC in Hellam, PA; First UMC in Catawissa, PA; Weidman UMC in Weidman, MI; Northlawn UMC and Faith UMC in Grand Rapids, MI; First UMC, Vergennes UMC, and Snow UMC in Lowell, MI; Parmelee UMC in Middleville, MI.

A rewarding experience in his life was the opportunity to use his gifts for eight years as an Emergency Room Technician at Spectrum Health Butterworth Campus.

Vance’s deep passion for youth group leadership spanned over 56 years! Many youth and adults had the privilege of serving with him on numerous work camps and mission trips.

Visitation will be on Saturday, November 22 from 10:00 -1:00 and 6:30-8:00 at First United Methodist Church, 621 E Main St., Lowell. The celebration service will be Sunday, November 23 at 3:00 at the church as well.
