Vercel L. Bovee, age 90 of Lowell, passed away Wednesday, December 07, 2016. Vercel was born on March 16, 1926 to Lyle and Mabel (Kyser) Bovee. After graduating from Lowell High School in 1943, he entered the Army at the young age of 17. Upon returning home, he married the love of his life, Marilyn Greene of Saranac. Vercel retired from Gen Corp Manufacturing in Ionia after 40 years of service working as a material scheduler. After retirement, Vercel helped his son-in-law with farming and made himself available to family and friends for their special ‘handyman’ projects. He was proceeded in death by his parents, Lyle and Mable Bovee; his brother and sister-in-law, Glendon and Janet Bovee. Vercel is survived by his wife of 68 years, Marilyn; children, James Bovee, Cheri (Keith) Feldman; grandchildren, Shane and Taylor Bovee; sister-in-law, Cheryl Thomas; nieces and nephews, Arla (Steve) Harvey, Lew (Sally) Bovee, Mike (Diane) Butcher, and Randy (Sylvia) Butcher.
