Virginia Cebelak, age 88, of Grand Rapids, passed away on Tuesday, July 23. She is preceded in death by her brothers, Norman Cebelak and Edward Cebelak; and sisters Mary Ann “Popsy” Turner and Irene Harvey. Virginia is survived by her sister-in-law Carol Cebelak , many nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews. Virginia was born in Grand Rapids, graduated from Catholic Central High School in 1948, and Aquinas College. Virginia loved the big cities Chicago and New York. She was employed for many years by Mony as an office manager then after retiring returned to Grand Rapids where she loved to host dinner parties and Christmas parties for all of her friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday, July 29 at 10:30 AM at St. Thomas the Apostle, 1449 Wilcox Park Drive SE, Grand Rapids, Rev. James Chelich presiding. Visitation will be Sunday, July 28 from 6-8 at O’Brien-Eggebeen-Gerst Funeral Home, 3980 Cascade Road SE, Grand Rapids.
