ARMSTRONG – Vivian Agler Armstrong age 97 passed away on September 1 2009 at Porter Hills Presbyterian Village. She was preceded in death by her husband Sheldon (Jack) Armstrong; daughter Sandra Wooldridge and brother Douglas Agler of Columbus OH. Vivian was loved by her family whose memories of her will be forever cherished. She is survived by her daughter Pamela Idema of Denver CO; granddaughters Cynthia VanDommelen who lovingly cared for her for so many years Victoria Slates of Minneapolis MN; grandsons Michael Wooldridge and Richard Wooldridge. She was blessed with 11 great-grandchildren. Vivian was a long time resident of Grand Rapids and Porter Hills Presbyterian Village. She retired at the age of 80 from Lacks Industries where she worked as the Executive Assistant for 37 years. She will be remembred as a remarkable woman who accomplished the goals she set for herself. Vivian was an avid reader and gardener loved to travel and was an accomplished seamstress and artist. She was a lover of the finer things in life. The family would like to thank the staff at Porter Hills and Hospice of Michigan for the love care and support they gave to Vivian in her final days. A memorial service will be held September 10 2009 at at Porter Hills Presbyterian Village 3600 E. Fulton Rev. Melody Johnson officiating.
