William Albert Burri, age 85 of Caledonia, passed away peacefully, Saturday, May 31, 2014, surrounded by his loving family. Bill was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Delores (Chatman), infant grandson Brian, sister, Betty Ladewig, and grandson Eric, who was killed in action in Iraq, 2005. Bill is survived by his wife Virginia (Butts); children, Michael (Deb), John (Joanne), Jim (Cindy), Tom (Barb), Cathy (Frank) Kapugia, Randy (Ann), Scott; sister, Albertine VanSplintern; as well as four step-children, Cindy and Bob Bone, Cris and Lisa DeWolf, Mike Butts, and Steve Burkhardt. His special friends and faithful companions, Daisy and Waffle, also mourn his loss.
Bill was most happy when spending time with his 24 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren, all of whom he was very proud. Husband, Dad, Grandpa, and Great-grandpa will be dearly missed, but we take solace knowing he was strong in his faith and is no longer suffering. A Memorial service will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church in Caledonia on Saturday June 14 at 11:00 a.m. Friends and family will meet one hour prior to service at 10 am at the church. Cremation has taken place at Bill’s request; he has also requested no visitation, but does want everyone to “have some good food and share in some good times”. Bill’s family wishes to thank Spectrum Health Hospice and Spectrum Health Continuing Care for their wonderful care of Dad and support to his family during this difficult time.
