William D. Fox of East Grand Rapids Michigan aged 75 lost his 5 year battle with cancer on December 16th 2011. Bill is preceded in death by his father William Frederick Fox and his mother Bernadine Doyle Fox of Lowell. Bill is survived by the love of his life Nora Ellen Fox of East Grand Rapids his wife of 57 years and their six children Roberta E. Strandberg of East Grand Rapids Bridgett E. McCarthy (Jon Schick) of Auburn Hills Kathleen A. Kooiman (Randy) of Zeeland William D. Fox II (Rita) of Lowell Shawn M. Fox (Michael) of Auburn HIlls and Colin L. Fox of East Grand Rapids. Bill was a loving father and grandfather. He is survived by all of his grandchildren whom he loved very much Stephanie Strandberg David Strandberg Michael McCarthy Patrick Cooper Daniel Kooiman Aaron Fox and Riley Zahorchak. He has 3 great-grandchildren Brittany Strandberg Kiley Strandberg and Gavin Briseno. Bill is also survived by his two brothers Robert C. Fox (Grace) of Lowell and John F. Fox (Jamie) of Saranac MI. Bill served nine years in the United States Armed Forces Fourth Armored Division immediately after graduating from Catholic Central High School in Grand Rapids MI. Upon returning to Grand Rapids Bill actively served his community in the Schuberts and Lions Clubs and was a member of The American Association of Plant Engineers. Bill later continued his education and received his Electrical Engineering degree from Kennedy Western. Bill believed in hard work and worked many years of his lengthy career at Rapistan in Grand Rapids and retired in 2001. Bill loved life and enjoyed it to the fullest. He was an avid musician singer painter storyteller historian mathematician fisherman and most of all family man. He will be missed by many. The family would like to Thank T.J., Brenda and Robin from Hospice for their wonderful care. Liturgy of Christian Burial will be offered at St. Stephen Church 750 Gladstone SE. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation 2-4 & 6-8 PM. Memorial contributions to Heartland Hospice Foundation 3230 Eagle Park Dr., NE Grand Rapids MI 49525 in Bills memory are appreciated.
