William H. Van Zee, age 87, of Grand Rapids passed away July 19, 2021. He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara (1989). Bill is survived by his son, Gary (Linda) Van Zee; grandchildren, Bradley Van Zee (Paul Sidam), Melissa (Tyler) Owens; great-granddaughter, Rory Ann Owens; sister, Gerrie Glendenning; brother-in-law, Spike Purchase; and many nieces and nephews. He owned and operated Kentwood Body shop for many years until he sold it in 1995. Bill retired in 1983 as the Captain of the Kentwood Fire Department. He loved making kit cars and traveling around the world with the International Walking Association. Bill was the past President of North Country Trail Association. He was a very faithful man and member at St. Mark Lutheran Church. Funeral services will be 11:00 am Friday, July 23, 2021, at St. Mark Lutheran Church, 1934 52nd St. SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49508 with visitation one-hour prior. Rev. Chris Rubino officiating.
