Alice Virginia Long, age 88 of Kentwood, passed away Sunday October 17, 2021. She is preceded in death by her husband, Dick Long; son-in-law, Craig Bienick; parents, Gaskell & Lucille Talley; sister, Mary Kathryn Wilson; father-in-law, Richard Long; mother-in-law, Doris Long; sister-in-law, Betty Ann McDonald, and brother-in-law, Charles (Mac) MacDonald. Virginia is survived by her children, Karen Bienick of Jenison, Kim (Steve) McNerney of Kentwood, Rick (Brenda) Long of Saranac, John Long; grandchildren, Brad (Elsie) Long, Chris (Carly) Bienick, Steve (Tammy) Bienick, Jenny (Chad) Klunder, Mike Bienick, R.J. Long, Ryan Long, Rachel (Tyler) Long, Stephanie (Nate) Wagemaker, Nicholas Long, Matthew Lucas, Mary Lucas, Trisha Olvera; and 17 great-grandchildren.  She enjoyed gardening and working in her flowers. Private family services will be held on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Memorial Contributions can be directed to Alzheimer’s Association, West Michigan Region 2944 Fuller Ave., NE GR 49505.

  1. I’m so sorry for your loss. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. Kim, you took good care of your mom these past few years and hope you get comfort knowing she’s in comfort and at peace now.

  4. Oh wow where do I begin. Virginia was ALWAYS good to us and didn’t hesitate to let us know if (just like her own kids) we weren’t doing things that didn’t meet her “expectations “. We have known her for 46 years and not once did she not treat us with love. She will be dearly missed and our sympathy and love go out to her family.

  5. Family of my grandkids nanny (miss Virginia ) she was a truly lovely lady with a heat of goal Who truly loved her family and is going to be very much missed by all for now on no more pain or sorrow just her pretty garened ☘️ and sunshinewith all the once she loved
