Betsy Joy Devon

Betsy Joy (Rodenhouse) Devon, age 62 of Ada, passed away very unexpectedly on June 30, 2019.  She was preceded in death by her husband Wes Devon, her parents Ken and Ruth Rodenhouse, brother Rick Rodenhouse and nephew Greg Olson.  Betsy is survived by her children Brittany (Fiona Campbell) Devon and Richard Devon; life partner, Tim Krueger;  brother Ken (Deb) Rodenhouse; sisters Linda (Phil) Olson, Barb Wosinski and Mary (Steve) Bykerk; many nieces and nephews, her dogs Evelyn and Bourke; and her granddogs Nessie and Minnie.Visitation will be Sunday, July 7 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at O’Brien-Eggebeen-Gerst Chapel, 3980 Cascade Road SE, Grand Rapids.  Funeral will be held on Monday, July 8 at 11 am also at O’Brien-Eggebeen-Gerst Chapel, Rev. Than Johnson.  Memorial contributions can be made in Betsy’s name to the Bissell Pet Foundation, 2345 Walker Ave NW, Grand Rapids, MI 49544 or the Creative Youth Center, 413 Eastern Ave SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49503.  She expressed her creativity though poetry and artistry.  To the depths of her soul, She saw, heard, touched, tasted and breathed in what God had created around her every day.  As Betsy would always say, “Infinite Love and Gratitude”.

  2. I thought of this simple poem that i remember from long ago. Treasured thoughts of one so dear. Often bring a silent tear. Thoughts return to scenes now past. Time rolls on but memories last. I sincerely hope the good memories of Betsy sustains all of her family.

  3. I am so saddened by Betsy’s passing. may the lord wrap his comforting arms around her family and families. His infinate love will surround them . Rest In Peace Betsy. My thoughts and prayers for all. Long time friend of family.
