GUTOS Bette Charlene Gutos age 93of CascadeTownship passed away November 6 2011. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years Bill; parents Alfred and Bertha Crawford and brothers Marion Donald Calvin and Jack. Bette is survived by one sister Mary Ann Weston; five children Dollie (Rich) Kessler Richard King Guy Gutos Greg (Anne) Gutos Gayle(Steve) DeFouw; grandchildren Evan Matt and Dana Sobie Grace Luke and Henry Sobie Jeff King Jim King Jodi McNeil and Jerome and Chris Holloway; 7 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Bette graduated from The George A. Davis Vocational and Technical High School Grand Rapids Michigan in the class of 1935. Bette was on the staff and wrote articles for Davis Tech News (school paper). This was a coveted honor. She was a captain of the volleyball team and member of their concert choir. She won the Grand Rapids swimming tournaments for two years competing with the men at Richmond Park. She was also a champion tennis player. Bette continued her love of swimming with her sister Mary and daughter Dollie once a week at the local YMCA well into her early eighties. She loved to play her piano and sing also. Most of all Bette was an ALL AMERICAN wife mother and friend to all who knew her. From all of our families we have been blessed to have had her in our lives and left with so many wonderful loving memories. She will be with us forever and we will always love her. Private services are being held by the family. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to your favorite charity.
