Bradley Higbie Palmer, age 75 of Grand Rapids, passed away Sunday, April 21, 2013. Brad was preceded in death by his parents, P.B. Palmer III and Blanche Hunt Palmer and his in-laws, Charles and Monica Duffy. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Judith Duffy Palmer; son, Bradley Hunt Palmer (fiancé Nancy Brooks); daughter, Monica Blanche (David) Geis; granddaughters, Alexandra Anne and Katherine Blanche Geis; brother, Nathan (Suzy) Palmer; sister, Quimby (Mark) Mahoney; brother-in-law, Bill (Carolyn) Duffy; sister-in-law, Pam Duffy; brother-in-law, Mike (Barb) Duffy; sister-in-law, Nancy Duffy (Charles Schaeffer); also many nieces and nephews. Brad was born in Chicago, IL. He graduated from Deerfield Academy in Deerfield, MA and Dartmouth College in Hanover, NH. After graduation he served in the U.S. Navy for three years in the Far East. His business career included working 18 years at H.P. Smith Paper Co. and then co-owning his own company, P/S Substrates, Inc. Brad was a member of Cascade Country Club for 35 years where he played many memorable rounds of golf with his golfing buddies sharing lots of laughs and leaving numerous stories to tell. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul the Apostle, 2750 Burton Street S.E., Grand Rapids, Rev. Msgr. Ernest P. Schneider presiding. Interment Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation Wednesday 4-7:00 p.m. at O’Brien-Eggebeen-Gerst Funeral Home, 3980 Cascade Road, Grand Rapids and one hour prior to the service at the church.
