  1. Carol: I saw the obit for your beautiful daughter & can’t help but think that you are the ‘Carol Walker’ that used to stay with us when we were ‘kids’ to answer the funeral home phone for Jerry & Gloria Roth. I am 74 years old & Jim & I recently celebrated our 55th wedding anniversary. We moved south in 1988 & returned to Lowell 6 years ago to help with Jim’s mother age 95 1/2 and he wanted a piece of land to call his own so we find ourselves back on the Speerstra homestead on Vergennes St. We’re back where we started so guess we’ve come full circle! Daughter, Jennifer, will soon be 53 & has a daughter, Allison, 17 who’ll be a senior in HS in Waconia MN this fall. Son, Jeff. is soon to turn 49, lives in Geneva IL & has 2 daughters, Savannah 7, & Scarlett 5. Our youngest son, Jacob, is 45 & resides in St. Petersburg FL. He was 11 when we moved to FL so is not interested in these MI winters! We aren’t as active as we used to be but enjoy good health & work in the yard & gardens a lot & hope to get more use out of the wooden boat Jim built over last winter. Jacob is visiting currently so he can take us fishing. I enjoy volunteering for Flat River Outreach sorting & shelving books & am recovered from a knee replacement 4/27. My sister, Stevie, lives in Lowell & is retired from Amway. Her grown kids are Jerrica who has 3 children & Trevor. My sincere condolences on the loss of Charmaine & would love to hear back from you via email. My goodness, how the years have flown by…
