David Scott Ver Meulen, D.C. 4/18/1954 -11/25/2020 “If there’s one thing I’m glad you kids understood it was unconditional love.” David was born and raised in East Grand Rapids by the late David James Ver Meulen and Nancy Matheson Ver Meulen. He graduated class of 1972 from EGR High School and Palmer College of Chiropractic in 1983. He is survived by his three children whom he loved dearly, James Allen (Lisa) Ver Meulen, Daniel David Ver Meulen, Sarah Elizabeth Ver Meulen; five grandchildren from James & Lisa, Tytus James Ver Meulen, Loxley Allen Ver Meulen, Justis Marie Ver Meulen, Aquilla James Ver Meulen and Azariah Allen Ver Meulen. David loved the great outdoors, fine woodworking, bocce ball, boating and Lake Michigan. A devote Christian, he is home with the Heavenly Father. David was able to spend the last of his days surrounded by family, brother, and best friend Douglas James Ver Meulen, and held his daughters’ hand until passing peacefully. He is survived by two sisters, Dee (Kevin) Cook, Betsy (Doug) VanderMeer and two brothers, Douglas Ver Meulen and Jim Ver Meulen; along with 8 nieces and nephews. Non-covid related death. Celebration of life will be established outside of Gerst Funeral home at a private residence yet to be determined.
