Devon Quinn Kurzhals of Alto and Saranac, MI, age 23, passed away Friday, September 15, 2017 from injuries due to a motorcycle and vehicle accident at the intersection of 8th Ave. and Adams St. in Ottawa County. Devon was a recent graduate from Grand Rapids Community College with a degree as a radiology technologist. He was an employee at Holland Hospital as a radiology tech and was pursuing a career there as a CAT scan tech. He was extremely excited to expand his knowledge in radiologic sciences and talked about becoming a radiologist. Devon had an immense interest in biology and several hobbies including salt water aquariums, coral growth, salt water fish, amphibians and reptiles, as well as tending to his bonsai plants with great care. He is survived by his mother, Josette Kurzhals and her fiancé, Guy Purdum of Florida; father, David Kurzhals of Saranac; brother Levi Kurzhals; sister Olivia Kurzhals; grandmothers Barb Gray of Florida, Jean Kurzhals of Saranac and Florida; grandfather Gary (Bonnie) Gray of Montana; great-grandmother Esther Gray of Florida; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Visitation will be Wednesday, September 20, 2-4:00 and 6-8:00 p.m. at Roth-Gerst Chapel, 305 N. Hudson, Lowell. Funeral will be Thursday, September 21, 11:00 a.m. Saranac Community Church, 125 S. Bridge St., Saranac.
