D. Jeanene Stevens went to be with her Lord and Savior Sunday evening October 14, 2012. Jeanene is survived by her loving husband, Ronald Stevens, and was preceded in death by her parents Rev. Robert T. and Edna Marie Morris. Jeanene and Ron were married in Huntington, Indiana, on June 14, 1957. They celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary on June 14, 2012. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from Olivet Nazarene College of Bourbonnais, Illinois. She was head teller at Old Kent Bank for 18 years then joined the Kentwood Public Schools faculty and taught 6th grade Math and Science at Valleywood for 25 years. She retired in 1994 and enjoyed wintering in Arizona and Florida. She served God’s mission in the Work and Witness program in Trinidad, Romania, Germany, France, Italy and Sicily. She was also involved in Senior Planning at La Grave Christian Reformed Church and was a member of the Barnabas Bible Study. Jeanene is survived by her husband and three sisters RoseMarie Boyer, and her three children, Jerry Boyer, Janell and (Ted) Nettles, and Julie Latham, Barbara and (Al) Vineyard, and Carol Newman. She is also survived by her two sisters-in-law, Gladys Fletcher and her three children, Mark (Mary) Fletcher, Doug (Shelley) Fletcher, Cheryl (Greg) Greening; sister-in-law Janet (Charles) Boerema and their children, Wayne (Heather) Boerema, and David (Londa) Boerema; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Sunday October 21, 3-6:00 p.m. at Roth-Gerst Chapel, 305 N. Hudson, Lowell. A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday October 23, 12:00 p.m. at La Grave Christian Reformed Church, 107 LaGrave Ave. S.E., Grand Rapids. Rev. John Steigenga officiating. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to The Gift of Life Foundation, 3861 Research Pk Dr., Ann Arbor, MI 48108 and/or the La Grave Henry Beets Missions.
