SMIGGEN – Dr. James Smiggen loving father and grand-father age 77 of Ada Michigan raised in Detroit Michigan died April 30 2008. He is survived by his wife of 53 years Marguerite; his children Suzanne (Dr. Don) Condit Sharon (Dan) Ruble and Sheila Smiggen. He will be greatly missed by his grandchildren Patrick Maggie and Anne Marie Condit Sara Clare and Charlotte Ruble. Jim was preceded in death by his sister Joan Fauster. He is survived by his brother Tom (Jan) Smiggen. Jim Smiggen was a graduate of St. Louis University Medical School. He practiced Obstetrics and Gynecology bringing 3500 babies into the world. He practiced medicine for a total of 58 years. Jim was a veteran of the US Navy. Mass of Christian burial will be offered on May 3 2008 at 11 a.m. at St. Robert of Newminster Church 6477 Ada Dr., with Rev. R. Louis Stasker presiding. Visitation will be at 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a Rosary service at 7 p.m. at O’Brien-Eggebeen-Gerst Funeral Home 3980 Cascade Rd. SE.
