Dr. William J. Foley III, age 71 of Rockford, passed away Sunday, July 11, 2021. He was preceded in death by his parents, William J. Foley Jr. and Louise (Papa) Foley; brothers, Mike Foley and Steve Foley. William is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Cathy A. Foley; sisters, Betty Foley of Lexington, KY, Patricia Foley Barrette (Mike) of Louisville, KY, Kathy Herder (Mark) of Van Nuys, CA, Rebecca S. Foley of Lexington, KY; brother-in-law, Roger Frazee (Lori), sister-in-law, Sally Prominski (Kenny); aunt, Anne Foley of Lexington, KY; nieces, Katie Barrette, Natalie Dunn; nephews, Nat Herder, Will Herder, Joe Barrette, Nick Frazee, Dan Frazee; and special friends, Ruth and Bill Dunn. William graduated from University of Kentucky Medical School. William practiced Internal Medicine at East Paris Associates PC for 40 years. He loved to be in the garden, cook and was a voracious reader. Memorial contributions may be made to The Nature Conservancy, 4245 N. Fairfax Drive, Suite 100 Arlington, VA 22203. Visitation will be 4:00-6:30 pm Friday, July 30, 2021, at O’Brien-Eggebeen-Gerst Chapel, 3980 Cascade Rd. SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49546 with memorial service at 6:30 pm.
