Freda Mae Tompkins, age 99 of Lowell, passed away Tuesday, April 18, 2023. The daughter of Joseph & Mabel (Bennett) Kendjerski, she was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Freda was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Tompkins and grandson, Todd Timmermans. She is survived by her children, Thomas (Benna-Lea) Tompkins, Patricia (Douglas II) LaDue, Debra (Gary) Timmermans; grandchildren, Adam, Alicia, Andrew, Douglas, Daniel, Nicolle, Michelle, Tara, Tracy and 8 great-grandchildren, special niece, Sharon (Gary) Misner. Freda graduated Creston High School in 1941. She enjoyed gardening, jig-saw puzzles, playing cards, and crocheting. Freda was known for her wonderful sense of humor. The family would like to thank the staff of Legacies of Caledonia for their wonderful care. Visitation with the family will be held on Saturday, April 22, 2023, from 2-4pm & 6-8pm at O’Brien-Eggebeen-Gerst Chapel, 3980 Cascade Roads SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49546.
