BOSHOVEN Fredrick J. Boshoven age 70 of Cascade Township passed away peacefully surrounded by family on June 8 2010 after a courageous year-long battle with cancer. Fred started as a tool and die maker but spent much of his career as a manufacturing engineer. There never was a machine he met that he could not make run more efficiently. He took great pride in his work and was a true craftsman in all that he did. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed boating golfing hunting and fishing with his family and friends. The smell of Captain Black tobacco will forever remind loved ones of Fred and his pipe puffing away as he formulated projects and contemplated life. He was preceded in death by his parents Anthony and Adriana (Faasse) Boshoven and in-laws Bernard and Martha (Winquist) Edison. Fred is survived by his wife of 48 years Janet; children Elizabeth (John) Blok Barbara Boshoven and Mark (Amy Brown) Boshoven; granddaughters Kristen (Jeremy Heavner) Blok and Kathryn Blok; great grandson Ryley Heavner; brother Robert (Margaret) Boshoven; in-laws Robert (Ariadne) Winquist Thomas (Shirley) Winquist Vivian (David) Klinck and Karen (William) Brumit; many nieces nephews dear friends and other relatives. Visitation will be held at OBrien Eggebeen and Gerst Funeral Home 3980 Cascade Rd SE on June 11th at 5-8 PM and June 12th at 12:00 Noon to 1:00 PM. A memorial service will be held Saturday at the Funeral Home at 1:00 PM Rev. Eric Coulon Faith Hospice Chaplain officiating.
