Louise Harris, of Grand Rapids, passed away on Wednesday, October 7th, 2015, at the age of 61. Louise is preceded in death by her children Ian Michael (deceased 1992), Tyler (deceased 1994) and Jacqueline Brianna (stillborn). Louise is lovingly remembered by her husband, Michael Harris, her children Lacey and Zachary Harris, and her group of close friends. Louise was an amazing mother, wife, friend and a passionate teacher. She loved spending time with her family, friends, and enjoyed hobbies that included gardening, volunteering, reading and cooking. Louise spent her adult life working as a general and special education teacher for Grand Rapids Public Schools. During her 30 years of teaching she touched the lives of young people with her creative teaching style and most recently returning to the Lincoln Campus-Kent Vocational Options, working with young adult students with disabilities. With her warm and generous manner, she pushed her students to achieve their potential. Those that knew her will remember her for her big heart, terrific sense of generosity, unconditional support she gave others, and unwavering positive personality. Her memorial service is scheduled for Tuesday, October 13th, 2015 at Fountain Street Church, 24 Fountain St NE, Grand Rapids. Visitation is scheduled for 6pm and a public memorial services to follow at 7pm.
